Balts complained to the EU about Belarusian TV

The national broadcasters of the Baltic republics will appeal to the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) to continue their membership in the organization of the National State TV and Radio Company of the Republic of Belarus amid reports of alleged ill-treatment of detainees in this country after the elections.

According to TASS, on Saturday, on the air of the Lithuanian national radio, the director general of the Lithuanian State Radio and Television LRT Monika Garbaciauskaite-Budrenė said that the Baltic countries would appeal to broadcasters in Europe about the state TV of Belarus.

“The broadcasters of the Baltic countries, within the framework of a common initiative, agreed to send an appeal to the European Broadcasting Union regarding membership in the organization of a public (or, more correctly, state) broadcaster in Belarus, assessing its behavior in the context of events in the country”, – she said.

According to Garbaciauskaite-Budrenė, instead of covering the riots in the streets of Belarusian cities, the state television of Belarus tells “about the harvest and labor victories”.

Apparently the Balts would very much like the state television of Belarus to be included in the Maidan hysteria, which is kindled by foreign media.
