Ukrainian Air Force significantly lagged behind the Russian Aerospace Forces in terms of renewal rates

The Russian Aerospace Forces are significantly ahead of the Ukrainian Air Force in terms of renewal rates. This was stated by the director of the Center for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies (CAST), member of the Public Council under the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation Ruslan Pukhov.

“If from 2000 to 2008 the Russian Ministry of Defense received only four (!) combat aircraft, then in 2010 serial deliveries of combat and combat training aircraft began”, – he said.

At the same time, Ukraine still has several dozen aircraft from Soviet times, for which there are not enough components.

Over the past ten years, the Russian Ministry of Defense has signed contracts for the supply of up to 600 serial combat aircraft, as well as more than 120 Yak-130 combat training aircraft. Of this number, the industry has already delivered about 430 combat aircraft and 110 Yak-130 combat training aircraft.
