The White House prepares a meeting of the leaders of Serbia and Kosovo

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic will hold talks with the head of government of the self-proclaimed “Republic of Kosovo” Avdulla Hoti during his visit to Washington.

This was announced on Friday, August 14, by the US special envoy for the Kosovo issue, Richard Grenell.

“We are pleased to announce that the leaders of Kosovo and Serbia will meet at the White House for talks on September 2”, – he said on the social network.

The July 27 White House conversation was canceled by the Kosovo side after the International Criminal Court’s Special Prosecutor’s Office for Crimes in Kosovo indicted Hashim Thaci and Kadri Veseli for war crimes during the armed conflict.

Aleksandr Vucic announced today that Belgrade will participate in the negotiations at the White House. According to him, Serbia is not in a position to refuse negotiations.

Shortly thereafter, Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti confirmed that a meeting with Belgrade officials would be held in Washington on September 2.

“The United States has always played a key role in the construction of Kosovo. On September 2, we are meeting at the White House to discuss with the Serbian side, as two independent countries, major economic cooperation projects that will change the economic prospects of Kosovo and the region”, – he said.
