Major provocation against Lukashenko announced in Lithuania

The leader of the pro-Western Belarusian opposition Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, who previously fled the country in the midst of the unrest, is preparing a provocative statement.

This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania.

According to the agency, Tikhanovskaya is preparing another appeal. Presumably, in it the opposition leader will deny what was said in the video, which was distributed by its own headquarters. The video appeared after it became known about the escape of Tikhanovskaya.

“No life is worth what is happening now”, – she said in a vocal.

Later, her headquarters began to claim that the video was allegedly recorded under pressure from the Belarusian security forces.

The expert community has already said that the departure of Tikhanovskaya will become the main instrument of pressure on Alexander Lukashenko.

The head of the Institute for Political Research Sergei Markov, in particular, noted that official Minsk would be accused of threats to kill Tikhanovskaya’s husband and children. This could lead to an escalation of tensions in Belarus.
