Will they pay? On the other hand, the amount is small for them.
“The magistrate court of Moscow’s Tagansky district yesterday ordered to impose a fine of 1.5 million rubles on Google for repeated violation related to insufficient filtration of banned content in the search engine”, – reports TASS.
This is a repeat violation by Google.
Previously, Roskomnadzor had already drawn up a protocol on administrative violation against the company: Google has filed claims due to the lack of measures taken to eliminate the prohibited content in search engines.
Roskomnadzor explained that Google filters selectively, so more than a third of the links of banned information are saved in search engines.
Under Russian law, search engine operators are required to filter and exclude links with forbidden content in Russia.
By the way, this penalty was the second one for Google: in 2019 the company was also fined 700 thousand rubles for refusing to filter banned content.
