Mateusz Morawecki, head of the Polish government, believes that the European Union should urgently gather for the summit.
The reason is the situation in Belarus, which develops there after the presidential elections.
The proposal of the Polish Prime Minister is reported on the official website of the government:
“Poland is responsible for its immediate neighbors. Therefore, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawecki, in a letter to the head of the European Council, Charles Michel, and chairman of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leien, called for an emergency summit of the EU in connection with events in Belarus.
