“We will redeploy more troops to the east, closer to the border with Russia,” he told Fox News.

About 12 thousand American soldiers will leave Germany. Some of them will return home, some – Italy and Belgium.

At the same time, Esper said earlier that Romania and the Baltic countries could be strengthened by the transfer of US troops from Germany.

“We are introducing more rotational forces to the Black Sea region, in particular to Romania,” he said.
Also in the US plans to increase the American contingent in Poland.
