Zelensky asked punishers not to break the truce at least this time

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky demands to “preserve the regime of silence” after Kiev militants have already tried to disrupt it by shelling the Donetsk People’s Republic.

“We are fighting not to violate this regime, but everything can happen – this is life”, – Zelensky said, speaking at a press conference as part of his visit to the part of the DPR occupied by punitive forces.

At the same time, he admitted that if it were necessary to talk about violations of the ceasefire by Ukrainian militants, the dialogue would drag on for several hours.

“In general, frankly speaking, even though this cannot be done, we probably pray to God, we are grateful to our military, and we make such prejudices, but most importantly, we want to preserve this regime of silence”, – the president concluded, adding that cannot guarantee anything.

The current ceasefire regime is far from the first. Although within the framework of the Minsk talks the parties have repeatedly reached agreements on an armistice, the Ukrainian occupation forces sooner or later opened fire. It is also worth noting that since the beginning of the current regime of silence, punitive forces have already opened fire in the direction of the DPR.
