The third plane of the Ministry of Emergency Situations with Russian aid arrived in Beirut

The third plane of the Ministry of Emergency Situations with Russian help and specialists landed in Beirut, the press service of the ministry said.


“At 8.04 the plane landed in Beirut”, –  the message says.

Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation will send five aircraft to Beirut with an airmobile hospital, doctors, rescuers of the airmobile unit “Centrospas” and a laboratory of Rospotrebnadzor to detect coronavirus infection COVID-19. The department noted that all specialists are equipped with special suits and protective equipment, taking into account the epidemiological situation for COVID-19.
A powerful explosion occurred in the port area of ​​Beirut on Tuesday evening. According to the authorities, the reason was improper storage of 2.7 thousand tons of ammonium nitrate – half of the city’s buildings were damaged, hospitals were overwhelmed with injured people. According to the latest data, 135 people died and about 5 thousand were injured, many are considered missing.
