The pilots of the new fifth generation fighter Su-57 will be protected from the light of a nuclear explosion. Safety will be provided by new glazing specially designed for the aircraft.
Andrey Silkin, General Director of the Technologiya developer company, spoke about this.
“The crew is protected from exposure to electromagnetic, ultraviolet and infrared radiation, as well as from the effects of light radiation from a nuclear explosion,” he said.
Due to the new materials, radar invisibility of the cockpit is also achieved, while “the impact strength of the glazing has doubled while its weight is halved.”
