South Korea reported that it is closely monitoring the DPRK’s nuclear missile program

According to a spokesman for the South Korean Ministry of Defense, the DPRK’s capabilities to miniaturize nuclear weapons have reached “significant levels.”

 

The military of the Republic of Korea is closely monitoring the activities of the DPRK in the field of missile and nuclear development. This was stated on Tuesday in Seoul by the official representative of the South Korean Ministry of National Defense Moon Hon Sik at a regular press briefing.

Thus, he commented on the Reuters report that the DPRK could create a compact nuclear warhead for its ICBMs.

According to a representative of the South Korean Defense Ministry, Seoul believes that the DPRK’s capabilities to miniaturize nuclear weapons have reached “a significant level.”

“Our military is closely monitoring the activity of the North in the nuclear missile sphere, and South Korea and the United States maintain close cooperation”, –  said Moon Hon Sik.

 

The CTAC news agency reported on July 28 that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, during a speech at a national conference of veterans, said that the DPRK’s nuclear deterrent forces provide it with reliable protection and guarantee security. He also noted that the DPRK “has become a country that can protect itself from any type of pressure, military threats and blackmail.”
