The commander of the Russian Airborne Forces, Andrei Serdyukov, said that in 2020, when the troops turn 90, they will receive more than 600 units of new and modernized models of weapons and military equipment.
“These are missile and artillery weapons, airborne combat vehicles and armored personnel carriers, electronic warfare equipment, communications equipment and automated control systems, unmanned aerial vehicles, engineering weapons, logistics and medical support equipment”, – he said.
In addition, the paratroopers will receive over 15,000 landing kits.
By 2021, the level of provision of the Airborne Forces with modern weapons, military and special equipment will reach 70%.
