The United States is ready to escalate tensions in the immediate vicinity of China by deploying medium-range missiles and even supersonic weapons there.

The U.S. intends to take advantage of the termination of the INF Treaty in the Indo-Pacific region

This was announced by the Chief of Staff of the US Army, General James McConville, when asked whether he would support the deployment of ground-based medium-range missiles in the Indo-Pacific region, which were previously prohibited by the INF Treaty.

Recall that the Treaty on the Elimination of Intermediate-Range and Shorter-Range Missiles ceased to exist on August 2, 2019 after the United States unilaterally found itself to comply with its terms.

“We are moving towards creating long-range delivery vehicles, such as hypersonic missiles, and we are developing medium-range weapons,” McConville said, noting that the country’s leadership will be presented with several options for means that can deny the enemy access to certain regions.
