Russia and Kazakhstan agreed to create a new complex for launching Soyuz-5 missiles

The agreement was signed on Thursday in the city of Baikonur and provides for the creation of a space rocket complex on the basis of a new generation middle-class space rocket to launch unmanned spacecraft.

According to Interfax, citing Roskosmos, the Energia Rocket and Space Corporation and the Baiterek JV (Russia-Kazakhstan) signed a contract to provide services for the creation of a space rocket complex to launch Soyuz-5 missiles.

“The Baiterek project provides for the creation of the Baiterek rocket complex based on the Zenit-M ground space infrastructure at the Baikonur Cosmodrome to launch a promising middle-class Soyuz-5 launch vehicle”, –  the state corporation said.
