The Moldovan opposition will again put forward a vote of no confidence in the government of Ion Chicu in parliament and will do so before the presidential elections scheduled for November 1 in the republic, Vice-Chairman of the Dignity and Truth Platform party, Alexandru Slusari, a comment to RIA Novosti told.
The parliamentary opposition of Moldova on July 20 failed to dismiss the Cabinet. The vote of no confidence in the Cabinet of Ministers initiated by them did not receive the required number of votes.
“A new vote of no confidence must be unambiguously put forward before the presidential election. We will put forward an initiative to resign the government when all the necessary conditions are met for this, that is, there must be a favorable situation in parliament from a political and mathematical point of view”, – said Slusar, who also heads the Dignity and Truth Platform faction in parliament.
At the same time, the deputy does not exclude that an emergency meeting of parliament may be required for the resignation of the government. The spring-summer session of the Moldovan parliament ended on July 20.
“I believe that an emergency meeting of the Parliament is possible. If we have 51 votes for the resignation of the government, we will demand to hold a meeting of parliament on this issue in August. Now it is difficult to say how it will be, but we will try to do it as soon as possible”, – emphasized Slusar.
The coalition in the Moldovan parliament was formed in March by democrats and socialists. Now the Socialist Party is represented in parliament by 37 deputies, the Democratic Party has 13 mandates, that is, the coalition consists of 50 deputies, and there is also an independent deputy in parliament, Alexander Oleinik, who supports the union of socialists and democrats. For the resignation of the Cabinet, votes of at least 51 out of 101 deputies are needed.
