Artillery of the Turkish army opened fire on settlements in the Manbij area in the north of the Syrian province of Aleppo, six civilians were killed, writes the Syrian newspaper Al-Watan.
“Six citizens were killed, including women and children. Another six children were injured as a result of the Turkish army shelling the positions of the “Syrian democratic forces”, working under the command of the American invaders”, – the newspaper wrote.
The northern Aleppo province of Syria, on the outskirts of the city of Manbij, is under the control of the Arab-Kurdish armed groups of UFDR. The Turkish army and the radical armed bands fighting on its side are holding the Al-Bab area west of Manbij and the Turkish border area north of the city.
The armed conflict in Syria has continued since 2011. At the end of 2017, it was announced that the terrorist group IG (“Islamic State”)* in Syria and Iraq had been defeated. Militant clean-up operations continue in some parts of the country. A political settlement, the reconstruction of Syria and the return of refugees are now at the forefront.
