Trump promised a golden age for the United States

The President of the United States also announced a quick win over the pandemic.

American President Donald Trump on Monday promised an early victory over the pandemic and the advent of a “golden age” for the United States.

On his Twitter page, the head of state accused the U.S. media of bias in covering the protests in the country and criticized the rioters, as well as his most likely rival in the presidential elections, former U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden.

“Lying media are trying to portray “protesters” in Portland and Seattle as beautiful, sweet and innocent people who just went out for a walk. In fact, they are sick and crazy anarchists and agitators, whom our beautiful <…> law enforcement agencies easily control, but who would destroy our American cities even worse if sleepy Joe Biden, the puppet of the Left, ever wins [the presidential election]. The markets would collapse and the cities would burn down. Our country would have suffered more than ever”, –  the American leader wrote.

“We will soon defeat the virus and move on to the golden age – better than ever!” – Trump summed it up.

In the city of Portland, Oregon, the riots have been going on for days. One man was stabbed during a protest on Saturday night. On Friday night, law enforcement officials used special means to disperse demonstrators outside the federal courthouse. In Seattle, Washington, 59 law enforcement officers were injured in the Saturday night riots.

Mass protests and riots began in many U.S. cities in late May after the death of African American George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Police used a suffocating seizure to arrest him. All four police officers involved in the operation were dismissed and charged. The U.S. National Guard joined local law enforcement agencies to bring order. Curfews were imposed in about 40 cities, including Washington and New York.
