The federalization of Moldova was not discussed during the negotiations on the reintegration of Transnistria.
This statement was made by the President of Moldova Igor Dodon.
He explained that the topic of changing the political-territorial structure of the republic was raised against the background of the discussion of a package of laws on the Gagauz autonomy. At the same time, Dodon assured that “there can be no federalization of Moldova”.
“And there can be no way to federalize Transnistria, which would not be approved by the West and the East. It’s impossible. The Transnistrian problem can be resolved if there is an international consensus, ”the President said.
