The EC asked the EU countries to inform each other about the quarantine

The European Commission calls on EU countries to inform each other about the measures they have taken against COVID-19, for example, the introduction of quarantine after travel, said a representative of the press service of the EC.

The rules on quarantine after return from a country or region of the European Union are introduced by the EU states themselves. And these rules may arise during the travel of residents of one country in the state, on arrival from which on departure quarantine was not necessary.

“In order to have a coordinated approach in the European Union, we call on countries to very actively inform each other about such measures (quarantine – ed.). From our point of view, it is also important that countries take the same approach to regions and union states with similar epidemiological situation, so as not to create discrimination between different regions. Quarantine is possible, but we would expect no discrimination between regions with similar epidemiological situations”, –  a spokesman for the press service said at a briefing on Monday.
