Protests continue in Bulgaria demanding the resignation of the government of Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and Chief Prosecutor of the Republic Ivan Geshev.
Several thousand people took part on Sunday. The protesters called for the resignation of the government On the “triangle of power”, between the administrative buildings of the government, the People’s Assembly (parliament) of Bulgaria and the president of the country, the protesters played volleyball, and then threw pig’s ears at the government building, chanting the slogans “Mafia!” and “Resignation!” Police cordons traditionally blocked the approaches to all major government offices, but the police did not prevent the protesters from expressing their discontent, there were no conflicts between the participants and the police.
Peaceful protests took place on Saturday in other Bulgarian cities. The first mass protest was held in Bulgaria on July 9, when over a thousand citizens, representatives of various political parties and public organizations gathered in front of the presidential administration building in support of the head of state Rumen Radev. Since that day, rallies and processions under the slogan “Defend Democracy!” became daily, mainly young people became their active participants.
