Ukraine decided to “decommunize” the monument to Pushkin

After the mass liquidation of monuments to Soviet leaders, Ukrainian Russophobes aimed at the monument to the famous poet Alexander Pushkin.

So, the Ternopil City Council received a petition demanding to demolish the monument to Pushkin, which is located in the park along Chornovil Street.

“The Russian imperial poet Pushkin has never been to Ternopil, he never wrote about this city. The poet himself continued the imperial tradition and myth-making, considering the Ukrainian lowest level, which should be near Moscow”, – says the author of the initiative.

In this regard, he demanded to demolish the monument, replacing it with a monument to “one of the Ukrainian, local figures”.

Earlier News Front reported that they wanted to replace the monument to Pushkin in Ternopil with a monument to the Nazi accomplice, the leader of the militants of the extremist group “Ukrainian Insurgent Army”* Roman Shukhevych.
