The U.S. President noted that the Democrats are refusing his help.
The U.S. authorities are ready to send to cities across the country up to 75 thousand federal law enforcement officers to combat rampant crime, if so requested by local authorities. American President Donald Trump said this Thursday in an interview with Fox News.
“We will go to every [American] city, every city. We are ready. We will add another 50,000, 60,000 people who really know what they are doing. They’re strong. They’re strong. But, as you know, we should be invited”, – the president stressed.
“If they invite us, we will send <…> to solve problems with crime <…> 75 thousand people. <…> We must be invited. At some point we have to do something much stronger than being invite”, – Trump added.
He said he recently spoke on the phone with Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot (Democrat), who opposes the sending of federal law enforcement officers to her city. Trump called the conversation great, but added that the Democrats were turning down his help.
“They don’t want to ask. It’s a shame”, – the American leader concluded.
Trump said Tuesday he is sending additional federal forces to fight the rampant crime in American cities. According to the president, “hundreds of qualified law enforcement officers”, including employees of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Department of Homeland Security, the Drug Enforcement Agency, as well as federal marshals will be sent to Chicago (Illinois).
