The US uses the Russian factor to justify the militarization of space

The United States, which is now actively working to deploy combat systems in Earth orbit, has accused Russia of provoking a space arms race.

The head of the U.S. Space Force, John Raymond, pointed to Russia’s “supposed” anti-satellite weapon tests in space on July 15 this year. He described the Pentagon’s suspicions as “further evidence of Russia’s ongoing efforts to develop and test space systems. Raymond complained that US space assets were under threat.

London has also joined Washington’s accusations. The head of the UK Space Administration, Harvey Smith, said: “We are concerned about how Russia tested one of its satellites by firing a projectile with weapon characteristics”.

Earlier Raymond said that on July 15, a rocket was allegedly fired from the Cosmos-2543 satellite. At the same time, he admitted that Russia`s actions did not harm anyone.
