FBI massively detains Chinese people living in the USA – operations took place in dozens of cities

American security officials provoke an escalation of tensions in relations between the United States and China by massively detaining Chinese citizens for interrogation.

It is reported by the agency “Reuters”, referring to the US Department of Justice.

Now Washington continues to accuse China of stealing American technology through cyber operations and espionage. Although Beijing has denied the allegations, the FBI has already launched operations in more than 25 US cities, detaining and interrogating Chinese residents there under the pretext of their ties to the PRC army.

“These members of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army have applied for research visas while hiding their true PLA affiliation”, – said Assistant Attorney General John Demers.

“This is another part of the Chinese Communist Party’s plan to exploit our open society and exploit academic institutions”.

According to the FBI, as of June, the department was working on 5,000 counterintelligence investigations. Almost half of them were associated with China.

In addition, the Ministry of Justice reported on the capture by the federals of three Chinese citizens who allegedly hid their ties with the PLA when applying for visas. The FBI is also trying to arrest another Chinese citizen, but he took refuge in the Chinese consulate in San Francisco after being interrogated by American security officials last month.
