The Su-27 Russian Aerospace Forces fighter intercepted another Poseidon over the Black Sea.
According to Interfak with reference to the National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation, the Russian Su-27 fighter took off on Friday to “intercept” an American reconnaissance aircraft over the Black Sea.
“To intercept the target, a Su-27 fighter from the Air Defense Forces of the Southern Military District was raised into the air”, – the report says.
“The Russian fighter approached a safe distance to the air target and identified it as an American reconnaissance aircraft R- 8A “Poseidon”. After the US Navy reconnaissance aircraft turned from the state border of the Russian Federation, the Russian fighter safely returned to the home airfield”.
The day before, the Russian military also reported on the departure of the Su-27 to “intercept” the American P-8A Poseidon reconnaissance aircraft over the neutral waters of the Black Sea.
