US Department of State Chief Mike Pompeo and Foreign Ministers of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania Urmas Reinsalu, Edgars Rinkevich and Linas Linkevicius made a joint statement.
They condemned “Russia’s attempts to rewrite history”.
“We stand firmly against all attempts by Russia to rewrite history in order to justify the occupation of the Baltic states and the annexation by the Soviet Union in 1940. Welles’ Declaration testifies that already in 1940 the free world saw the actions of the Soviet Union such as they were: an illegal annexation by force”, – the statement said.
Apparently, the occupation of the Baltic states by Germany was nicer. Moreover, with Nazi inclinations, which still remain there.
In addition, the heads of the Baltic foreign ministries willingly reaffirmed their loyalty to NATO and the United States. Nothing new: where the owners send them, there will they go.
