In Poltava, a man took a policeman hostage and threatens to blow himself up with a grenade. The incident took place in the morning of July 23 at Ostapa Cherry Street. Law enforcers conduct a special operation to apprehend the suspect.
“Trying to avoid responsibility, the man resists and threatens the police officers with a grenade. They are negotiating with him. There are blast technicians, an investigation team, criminal investigation officers of the regional police and the Poltava police department and other special services on the spot”, – the police said.
Residents of the city were urged to avoid the territory of the special operation.
According to the local edition of IRT, an unknown man came to the territory of the former Poltava bakery #2 on a moped, a conflict began, then he took a policeman, who came to call the workers and threatened with a grenade.
The eyewitness reported that the criminal was allegedly given a car and released from the cordon.
