The number of wounded in a shooting in Chicago has increased to 15

The number of gunshot victims in Chicago rose to 15, police reported several suspects, CBS News reported.

According to police, the condition of six victims is assessed as critical, while the rest are feeling well. It is noted that all the victims are adults.

The channel notes that the shooting took place immediately after U.S. President Donald Trump proposed to send about 175 federal law enforcement officers to Chicago. At the same time, according to sources of the channel, these officers have already arrived in the city on Tuesday night.

It was previously reported that the Mayor of Chicago, Lori Lightfoot, expressed concern about the role that law enforcement officials could play.

Violence has not subsided in Chicago for the past eight weeks. After the death of African American George Floyd as a result of the actions of a police officer, protests have been held in the city, often accompanied by looting, vandalism, arson and looting. In July alone, at least four shooting incidents occurred in the city, affecting at least 20 people.
