The pro-Western opposition candidate for the presidency of Moldova, Maia Sandu, intends to make a deal with unionists who are working to annex the republic to Romania.
At the same time, Sandu openly stated that her party, Action and Solidarity, and the unionists share the same desires.
“Last time we managed to get the support of the unionists, and I believe that it will be so now. These people have the same desires as we do, ” she said, stressing that she meant“ a clear prospect ”of joining the EU and“ very good ” relations with Romania.
As previously reported by News Front, Sandu now intends to participate in the presidential elections, although she previously had a bad experience of government. Following the parliamentary elections, Sandu received the post of Prime Minister of Moldova, but after 100 days in office she was forced to talk about her victory over the usurper Vladimir Plahotniuc. Her merit in this was not, as well as the real achievements of her government.
As a result, Sandu’s cabinet did not last long. She tried to bypass parliament to obtain the right to single-handedly nominate candidates for the post of prosecutor general, in connection with which the government was dismissed. At the same time, the expert community believed that Sandu deliberately provoked such a scenario, since she could not achieve at least some results.
