The protesters set fire to tires on the railway line connecting Barcelona with the cities of Girona and Figueres.
As reported by TASS with reference to the newspaper El Mundo, supporters of the independence of Catalonia staged a protest on Monday against the visit to the region of King Philip VI of Spain.
“The protesters set fire to tires on the railway line connecting Barcelona with the cities of Girona and Figueres, as a result of which the communication between them was disrupted”, – the message says.
According to Europa Press, about 200 more people are going to take part in the protest outside the Poblet Monastery, which is due to be visited by the monarch.
