The company Alison Management, which controls the ship, said that the hostages were taken from the board, and the tanker itself is “drifting with limited capabilities.”
According to TASS, the pirates took 13 crew members from the Curacao Trader tanker in the Gulf of Guinea hostage, consisting of 19 citizens of Russia and Ukraine. This was announced on Saturday by Alison Management, which controls the ship.
“The tanker was attacked on July 17 by pirates 210 nautical miles off the coast of Benin at 11:00 local time,” the company’s statement was quoted by the Marine Bulletin. “The ship is now drifting with limited capacity.”
According to the company, a nearby refrigerator Frio Chikuma is moving to help the tanker. The ships are expected to meet at noon.
