The plans put forward by Donald Trump and his education secretary that America will be ready to reopen schools this fall are “reckless” and could lead to many teachers leaving the profession. This was warned by the president of the American Federation of Teachers Randy Weingarten in an interview with The Guardian.

“It looks like Trump and Devos want to create chaos and threaten reopening,” Weingarten said in an interview. “There is no other reason why they would be so reckless, so soulless, so cruel,” the message says.

Meanwhile, Florida is setting new records for infection and death almost daily. Likewise, California is returning to a state of siege with closed bars, restaurants and even offices. Texas and Arizona are requesting corpse refrigerators as there has been a spike in deaths from COVID-19 infection, and morgues are expected to fill up again soon.
