Media: Turkey has sent 13,000 mercenaries to Libya

The fighters from different countries were sent to support the so-called Government of National Accord (GNC) of Libya.


Turkey has transported more than 13,000 fighters from various countries to Libya, the Al Arabiya newspaper reports.

“As of mid-June, Turkey had sent more than 13,000 mercenaries of various nationalities to Libya to support the so-called National Accord Government (NCP)”, –  Al Arabiya reported citing anonymous sources.

The last Turkish plane arrived in the Libyan city of Misrata this Monday, carrying 356 mercenaries from Syria, Tunisia, Egypt and Sudan. It was followed by another flight from Turkey, carrying 126 militants. In the past few days, Turkey has dispatched about 1,400 Tunisian mercenaries from Aleppo and Idlib to Libya. Libyan and Turkish passenger aircrafts delivered them in batches to Gaziantep and Istanbul, and then sent them to Misrata in northwest Libya.
