A powerful explosion has broken out in north-eastern Syria

A powerful explosion hit the Kurdish headquarters and weapons depot in Hasakah in north-eastern Syria. The bomb was planted in a car.

Soldiers from Kurdish units of the Syrian Democratic Forces cordoned off the area of Mshayrfa, where the explosion took place. Clubs of black smoke are rising above the blast site.
No information has been received about the dead or injured. Ambulances are heading to the area where the explosion took place. Kurdish sources believe that the explosion was carried out by terrorists from the Islamic State group (banned in Russia).
