Although Washington makes the Venezuelans starve to make a coup with their hands, the government elected by the people of the republic can strengthen its position. The United States must prepare for such an outcome.

About this writes the publication The Washington Post.
The media evaluated the course with the Supreme Court of Venezuela, which deprived the powers of the leaders of the pro-American opposition. Among them was Juan Guaido, whom the United States proclaimed the “president” of the Bolivarian Republic. When parties led politicians outside Washington’s control, rumors began circulating in Venezuela that they allegedly took bribes from the government.
Donald Trump’s Venezuelan adventure is compounded by the fact that at the end of this year the republic will elect a new parliament, and all their failures will plague the pro-Western politicians.
“If the regime’s maneuver succeeds, it will leave the opposition and Venezuela itself at an impasse. The United States and other countries that strongly supported Mr. Guaido are facing the apparent failure of their efforts to overthrow the regime through sanctions or negotiations. The Trump administration is still trying to block Venezuelan oil exports and gasoline imports, but it no longer has a unified strategy for changing regimes”, – MP says.
The publication believes that it remains to hope for the collapse of the Venezuelan government “of its own weight”, because US sanctions still deprive the country of oil revenues, forcing Venezuelans to starve.
“Nevertheless, it seems possible that the Chavist movement, like the Fidel Castro movement in Cuba, will survive the US boycott. The US policy should be adapted to such an opportunity. A good start would be to expand the reception of Venezuelan refugees, including activists from the current opposition”, – the media concluded.
