Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diyab has accused a number of Lebanese politicians of trying to prevent international financial aid for a country that is experiencing an acute economic crisis, in order to show the government’s incapacity.
“Challenges to our country have increased, difficulties are accumulating, and political stability is becoming more difficult against the background of distortion of reality … But unfortunately, some have gone very far, preventing any assistance to Lebanon, what are they doing …? We have reports of plans to obstruct the government within the structure, and we are under pressure from different directions on the pretext that we are incapacitated”, – LBC quoted the prime minister as saying.
The Lebanese prime minister expressed confidence that the state is able to work efficiently, and this is not the prerogative of a single political force or group.
“Contacts with our friends in Iraq, Qatar and Kuwait and friends in the world have positive trends and willingness to help Lebanon. We are digging stony ground to ease the impact of the crisis. But there are individuals who are still pushing hard to increase the suffering of citizens”, – Diyab added.
