A civilian died as a result of shelling of the Armenian Armed Forces in the village of Agdam in the Tovuz region, on the border with Armenia.
This was reported by RIA Novosti, it was told in the administration of the Tovuz region.
“On July 14, 2020, as a result of artillery shelling of the Armenian armed forces in the direction of Tovuz region, a civilian was killed. This is Aziz Izzet oglu Azizov, born in 1944 (76 years old), a resident of the village of Agdam in Tovuz region … Earlier, the Armenians fired at our settlements with heavy weapons. As a result, civilians were killed, and the economy, property and infrastructure were seriously damaged. The international community and the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs should respond and strongly condemn the attacks of the Armenian military units on the civilian population of Azerbaijan”, – the administration said.
Earlier on Tuesday, a spokeswoman for the Armenian Defense Ministry Shushan Stepanyan reported that civilian infrastructures of the Armenian village of Berd in the Tavush region were attacked by Azerbaijani drones.
On Sunday, a clash took place on the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia – the Tovuz region, bordering Georgia, and the Tavush region, respectively – a few hundred kilometers from the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh, where the situation is calm now. In the place of shelling there are military posts deployed near the village of Movses.
