The pro-Western opposition of Moldova nevertheless ventured to declare a vote of no confidence in the government, pushing the republic into another political crisis.

26 deputies separate from the overthrow of the government of Moldova

The authors of the initiative were the deputies of the party “Dignity and Truth”, whose leader is Andrei Nastase. As you know, Nastase was the Minister of the Interior in the previous government, headed by the leader of the pro-Western party, Action and Solidarity, Maya Sandu. Her cabinet did not last long. Sandu tried to get around the parliament to get the right to single-handedly nominate candidates for the post of prosecutor general, in connection with which the government was dismissed. At the same time, the expert community believed that Sandu deliberately provoked such a scenario, as she could not achieve at least some results as prime minister.

“Today, July 14, we met at a meeting of the“ Dignity and Truth ”faction, because we finalized the text of the vote of no confidence and proceeded directly to its signing. Deputies of the DA Platform signed a document, after which we will turn to other deputies with a request to do the same, ” said MP Dinu Plingau in a distributed video message.

His colleague Alexander Slusar, in turn, said that the opposition needs to collect 26 signatures of deputies, in connection with which the party will appeal to Sandu and her party, “Action and Solidarity”.
