The radical Taliban movement* does not intend to cease hostilities before the start of inter-Afghan negotiations. This was reported by 1TV News with reference to the representative of the Taliban Zabihulla Mujahid.
It is noted that earlier on Sunday, the representative of the President of Afghanistan, Sedik Sedikki, called on the Taliban to renounce violence and take a real part in the peace process.
According to the TV channel, Mujahid said that hostilities will continue, since the Taliban have no other choice. He called the calls for a ceasefire by the authorities “illogical” and stressed that the completion of the release of prisoners is a prerequisite for the start of inter-Afghan negotiations.
“If you do not want to continue the war, then why create obstacles to negotiations?” – the TV channel quotes Mujahid.
