Lukashenko says Belarusian people did not kneel before anyone

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that his heart was “irrevocably given” to the Belarusian people, who never knelt before anyone and suffered the right to live in their state, independently determining their future.

“My heart is completely and irrevocably given to this land and these people. To all Belarusians. A people that over the centuries of its history experienced many troubles and misfortunes, but never knelt before anyone. A people that suffered the right to live in their state and independently choose and determine your future”, – Lukashenko said at a festival “Alexandria Gathers Friends” in the Mogilev Region on Saturday, which coincides with the celebration of Ivan Kupala last week. His words are quoted by Sputnik Belarus.

The President urged those present to look around and see how much good, necessary we have done in this native land.

“Your great merit is that more than one generation of Belarusians is growing up in a prosperous, clean, peaceful and beautiful country. The country that you and I have created from scratch, on the wreckage of a great empire, whose name is the Soviet Union”, – the head stated Belarusian state.

According to him, it was not easy, something turned out to be “excellent” and even better than once imagined, something was “good”, and there is still a lot of work to be done.

“To work for the result, to unite before any trials, to overcome all difficulties – this is the only way to create a better future for your country and your people. And, of course, only for all together”, –  Lukashenko emphasized.

He added that true love for the Fatherland is constructive, and called for further building Belarus together as a fair, safe and strong country.

“Now it’s very relevant when the powers that be try to redo the world, break the foundations, impose their way of thinking and their way of life on the weaker. And most importantly: at such times you need to listen to your heart – it will always show the most true and correct path to the future”, – the Belarusian leader emphasized.
