Islamophobia was added to anti-semitism. Extremism rises in Germany

Radical sentiments are felt everywhere in Germany, including those in the army and political circles, and the number of extremist crimes has exceeded 22 thousand over the past year.

It is reported by the publication “Das Erste”.

It is noteworthy that the number of crimes committed by left radicals increased by 40%. Minister of the Interior Horst Seehofer has already called such statistics “a disgrace for the country”, adding that anti-Semitism, xenophobia and Islamophobia remain key ideas of extremist agitation.

Due to the radical statements made by German soldiers on social networks, authorities have tightened control in the Bundeswehr. Many reservists were removed after an audit by the Military Counterintelligence Service and the Federal Constitution Defense Service.

Bundestag deputies also actively criticized German migration policies, insisting on restrictions on refugees arriving in the country. In particular, the Alternative for Germany party adheres to this position.

However, German Islamophobia is not groundless, the newspaper notes, because Islamist extremism poses a no less serious threat to security. There are still at least 650 potential terrorists operating in Germany.
