Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Russia could conclude a full-fledged peace treaty with Japan, but there is currently no answer from Tokyo.

Earlier, the governor of the Japanese prefecture of Hokkaido, Naomichi Suzuki called for intensified negotiations with Russia on the Kuril issue. He commented on the past vote on amendments to the country’s Basic Law, expressing confidence that the dialogue with Moscow to resolve territorial problems will continue.
