NATO ships heading for the Black Sea

NATO ships will take part in naval maneuvers, after which they will visit the port of Odessa.

In 21 days NATO ships will leave the Black Sea in accordance with international treaties.

The NATO Mediterranean Naval Group led by the Spanish frigate Álvaro de Bazán set sail for the Black Sea. This was reported by the Spanish edition of the ABC.

The group will take part in naval maneuvers, after which it will visit the port of Odessa. In 21 days NATO ships will leave the Black Sea in accordance with international treaties.

Since June 30, Spain has been leading the SNMG-2 naval group of the NATO Naval Forces in the Mediterranean Sea. SNMG-2 is one of four permanent NATO naval groups.

It consists of two escort ships and two mine action vessels with enhanced capabilities. They represent the first element in the response to a crisis at sea.

It has been reported that the armed forces of NATO member countries will increase air patrols and the presence of naval vessels in the Black Sea.
