For the third day in a row, strikes have taken place in the country, which, after protesters attempted to storm the capital’s parliament, abruptly switched to a “sedentary” format.
It is reported that the protests took place in the capital of Belgrade, as well as in Novi Sad, Vranje, Nis, Kragujevac, Čačak, Zrenjanin, Krusevac and Kraljev.
In Belgrade, people protesting against tightening measures in connection with the complication of the situation with coronavirus in the country and dissatisfied with the work of the government, gathered at the building of the People’s Assembly (parliament).
The protest was peaceful, with some demonstrators holding posters. On one of them is written: “Grab the hooligans, do not hurt your people!”
Supporters of opposition parties were seen among the protesters.
The police observed order at the assembly building, and special forces in full combat gear were stationed on neighboring streets.
Protests in Niche began near the city assembly building, but a little later the participants organized a protest march through the city streets.
