Witness in the case of the impeachment of Donald Trump, lieutenant colonel Alexander Windman leaves the army after 21 years of service, fearing persecution by the president.
According to the defendant’s lawyer, Windman went through a “campaign of bullying, intimidation, and retaliation,” launched by the president after testimony from a lieutenant colonel last year.
“The US president was trying to get Lt. Col. Windman to choose between enforcing the law or pleasing the president. Between keeping his oath or keeping his career. Between the protection of his promotion or the promotion of his associates, ” the lawyer said.
