Serbian expert: no new EU members needed

Portal Eurasia Expert interviewed Michel Zubenitsa, Executive Director of the Center for International Public Policy (Belgrade). When asked by the journalist whether serious changes in the foreign policy of Alexander Vucic should be expected after the election, the expert replied that Serbia will continue to balance between East and West.

“I do not expect changes in Serbia’s foreign policy precisely because the current ruling coalition has received absolute support and will continue to pursue Serbia’s foreign policy as before. This means that Serbia will balance between East and West and cooperate with all the great powers. Regarding Serbia’s accession to the European Union, Serbia will continue European integration, but the Kosovo problem will still be the main obstacle to this. I also think that the European integration of Serbia will be even more slowed down, because the European Union itself is currently not interested in the accession of new members, ”said Zubenitsa.
