According to the Central Statistical Office 40% of foreigners coming to live and work in Hungary, from Ukraine.
According to Ukrinform with reference to data from the Central Statistical Office of Hungary, four out of ten foreigners who come to live and work in Hungary are Ukrainians.
“If in 2015 the Hungarian authorities registered 1143 Ukrainian citizens, in 2019 already 21 thousand citizens from Ukraine have applied for a permanent residence certificate. This means that 40% of foreigners who come to Hungary are from Ukraine”, – the publication says.
According to experts, one of the reasons for this is the fact that the Hungarian economy is forced to deal with the shortage of labor. That is why the employment procedure was simplified for Ukrainians even before the coronavirus epidemic.
