The head of the U.S. Central Command questioned Russia about the Taliban attacks on U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan.
According to Interfax, General Frank Mackenzie, head of the U.S. Central Command, believes the information about Russia’s ascribed involvement in attacks of militants of the banned Taliban movement in Russia on the U.S. military is questionable.
“I find this very disturbing. I found no causal link there”, – Mackenzie told reporters. – “Regardless of whether the Russians are paying the Taliban or not, the Taliban have done everything they can to conduct operations against us over the past few years.”
However, Mackenzie said Russia has long been a threat to the United States in Afghanistan.
“We should always remember that the Russians are not our friends. They are not our friends in Afghanistan. And they don’t want to do us any good, and we just need to remember that always …”, – said the American general.
