The media told how much Germany paid to station the U.S. Army

Germany has paid almost a billion euros to deploy the U.S. army inside the country for ten years, writes Der Spiegel.

The publication argues that Germany’s annual spending of €100 million has been underestimated and “is only part of the real costs”.

According to Der Spiegel, Germany has spent €648.5 million on grants for construction work over ten years and €333.9 million on defense spending.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump decided to reduce the number of military personnel on the territory of Germany from about 34.5 thousand to 25 thousand. Later, it became known that some military personnel will be sent home, and the rest will be sent to Poland and other places in Europe.
