US tries to mitigate Afghan failure at the expense of Central Asian countries

In Washington, Central Asian countries are seen as a resource that can be used in their military-political campaigns. That is why they are tried to be turned from Russia to Afghanistan.

He drew attention to how actively the United States is agitating the governments of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan to take part in the Afghan settlement. So, the head of the Department of State, Michael Pompeo, raised this topic at the online conference “Central Asia – USA”.

The peculiarity of the situation is that American experts and politicians, using the term “greater Central Asia”, add Afghanistan to the region, although this is not entirely true.

“The goal of such an activity is to shift the attention of the five countries of post-Soviet Central Asia to Afghanistan, thereby reducing their relations with Russia”, – the journalist explained.

At the same time, he emphasized that the countries of Central Asia were never united with Afghanistan, and all previous attempts were also unsuccessful.

“From a historical point of view, Afghanistan and the Central Asian republics developed differently, especially during the Soviet Union. If you look at the economic and social aspects of these countries, it becomes clear that thanks to Russia, the republics have gone far ahead”, – emphasizes Kurtov.

Attempts to artificially link the countries of the region with Afghanistan are made solely for the benefit of Washington, since the US Afghan strategy has failed, and the American administration must somehow mitigate this fiasco. However, the vision of the situation in Afghanistan in the neighboring republics is significantly different from how it is seen on the other side of the Atlantic. Whatever Washington proposes, it does not take into account the real geopolitical situation in the region.
